The Alabama Crimson Tide have made a definitive roster decision regarding defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after his latest arrest and following his suspension from last weekend’s game against Texas A&M.
Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer announced on Tuesday that Kirkpatrick has been dismissed from the program after Alabama gathered additional information about the situation.
“After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program,” DeBoer said in a statement. “He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players.”

Kirkpatrick was arrested Friday and charged with misdemeanor counts of doxing and harassing communications. According to court documents, per AL.com’s Nick Kelly and Carol Robinson, he allegedly sent a message to a University of Alabama police officer and posted a photo of the officer and his family on Facebook.
The officer had previously been involved in Kirkpatrick’s Nov. 2025 arrest following a traffic stop on The Strip. Alabama suspended Kirkpatrick for the remainder of that season after being charged with reckless endangerment, attempting to elude and speeding.
Kirkpatrick’s latest arrest led Alabama to suspend him before Saturday’s 31-20 win over Texas A&M Aggies.

DeBoer confirmed Monday that Kirkpatrick was no longer with the team while the program continued gathering information. One day later, Alabama announced his dismissal.
“He’s not with us,” DeBoer said. “We have an expectation and standard in our program, and the team rules, and things that go along with that. There’s still some details that I’m trying to understand, but it’s enough to where we know that’s not how we operate.”
Kirkpatrick, the son of former Alabama All-American cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., appeared in the Crimson Tide’s first seven games this season, recording five tackles, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
No. 10 Alabama is on a bye week and will return to action against the No. 15 LSU Tigers on Saturday, Nov. 7.
