R.J. Mosley leaves game after left-leg injury
According to ESPN College Football, Arizona wide receiver R.J. Mosley was carted off the field after suffering a left-leg injury against Texas Tech on October 31. The incident occurred in the third quarter, prompting medical personnel to attend to him. Arizona players gathered around Mosley as he received treatment, while ESPN did not show a replay of the tackle.

The injury occurred on a third-and-18 play when quarterback Noah Fifita completed a short pass to Mosley. The receiver gained eight yards before Texas Tech cornerback Amier Boyd tackled him. Mosley reached toward his left knee after the tackle and went down on the field. Medical staff quickly approached him to assess the injury.
Mosley received treatment on the field before a cast was placed on his leg. He was then taken off the field on a cart for further medical evaluation. Arizona had not announced a specific diagnosis, recovery timeline, or the nature and severity of the injury.
While Mosley received medical attention, Fifita and other Arizona players gathered around him. Fifita was seen praying beside his teammate. The Texas Tech crowd also applauded as Mosley was taken off the field.
Mosley is a freshman wide receiver who joined Arizona’s 2026 recruiting class as a four-star prospect. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound receiver is from Brentwood, California, and attended Pittsburg High School. During his senior season, he recorded 82 receptions for 1,302 yards and 14 touchdowns. He wears No. 2 for the Wildcats.
Against Texas Tech, Mosley recorded one reception for eight yards before leaving with the injury. Isaiah Mizell led Arizona with seven catches for 182 yards and a touchdown. Giovanni Richardson added six receptions for 90 yards, while Chris Hunter finished with four catches for 52 yards.
Arizona was already dealing with injuries at wide receiver. Top receiver Tré Spivey had been ruled out for the season with a broken foot. Richardson and Hunter had also missed time earlier in the season but were available against Texas Tech. Mosley’s departure further affected Arizona’s wide receiver depth.
The No. 22 Wildcats entered the matchup with a 6-1 record against No. 13 Texas Tech. Arizona led 17-7 before losing 34-26. The defeat ended the Wildcats’ five-game winning streak and dropped their record to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
Fifita completed 33 of 45 passes for 417 yards and one touchdown. Despite his passing performance, Arizona could not hold its lead against the Red Raiders.
Mosley’s status remained uncertain following the game, as Arizona had not announced an official diagnosis or a timetable for his return after the initial evaluation.
