The Hurricanes picked up a massive pledge on Thursday afternoon.

Five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright committed to Miami, picking UM over Texas and Florida. He announced his decision on social media.

Wright was listed as the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 3 player in the 2028 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He announced in his commitment video that he was also reclassifying to the 2027 class. He is now listed as the No. 4 wide receiver and No. 26 player in the 2027 class.

Wright, a standout for Mandarin High in Jacksonville, is listed at 6-3.5 and 215 pounds. He is teammates with UM’s 2028 quarterback commit, Knox Annis, who said in August that he was working to bring his teammate with him to Miami.

“I’m trying to get him to come every day,” Annis said. “… (I tell him) that really we’re building something special.”

Wright, who was a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American last season, ended the 2025 campaign with 44 catches for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also played defense, racking up 55 tackles with five pass breakups and five interceptions. This season, Wright has 46 catches for 984 yards and 11 scores. He has 26 tackles, three pass breakups and two interceptions on defense.

Wright is the fourth wide receiver in the Hurricanes’ class, joining fellow five-star prospects Nick Lennear and A’mir Sears and four-star prospect Eli Woodard.
