The 6th-ranked Utah Utes rolled to a 49-25 win over Cincinnati on Saturday.

Devon Dampier threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns on a record-breaking day while leading his team to victory. The Utes (8-0, 5-0 Big 12) extended the nation’s longest active FBS winning streak to 14 games. The longest since winning 16 straight from 2007 to 2009.

This was a special day on the road for Dampier. He finished the game with 45 rushing yards, giving him 1,228 for his career at Utah, which is the most for a quarterback in program history. Travis Wilson had 1,225 rushing yards over a decade ago.

“Really proud of our guys to come on the road after a big win against Houston and stay focused,” Utah coach Morgan Scalley said. “This is a very good Cincinnati team. Really proud of the coaches and the players for focusing on not letting the last game take over what we needed to do today.”

Utah took care of business and didn't let up when it mattered the most.

The Bearcats (5-3, 2-3 Big 12) came into the game looking for another upset. After beating undefeated Texas Tech last week, they wanted the Utes to be next. However, Utah came out of the gate and kept Cincinnati off the field. Dampier and the Utes' offense possessed the ball for more than 10 minutes in the first quarter to take control.

Utah took a 7-0 lead off a 12-play, 78-yard drive on their first possession. Dampier found Hunter Andrews for a 4-yard TD pass. He tied a career-high with five catches and set career highs with 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Then Wayshawn Parker scored on a 13-yard run to make it 14-3. He rushed for 82 yards on the day, keeping his total going towards his first 1,000-yard season.

The offense started the party, but the Utes' defense came to play. Early in the second quarter, Utah's Rabbit Evans returned a fumble 51 yards for a touchdown to make the score 21-3. It was the first fumble return TD for the Utes since 2022.

From that point on, Utah never looked back. Daniel Bray's 30-yard TD run made the score 28-3. Before anyone could blink, Elijah Davis had a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown to make the score 42-6 at halftime. The 23rd straight season that Utah had a pick six.

There was no letdown for the Utes after last week's big win over Houston. Many thought Cincinnati would be a tough test. However, it seems Texas Tech left the Bearcats with no gas left in the tank. The Utes are 8-0 for the first time since 2010 and have won 10 consecutive Big 12 games.

Utah hosts No. 8 BYU on Saturday. Kickoff for the Holy War will be at Noon ET on ABC or ESPN.
