Predicting SEC football scores in Week 9: Florida looks to keep momentum vs. Georgia

It’s going to be another action-packed weekend of college football if Week 9 has similar results to both Week 7 and Week 8. Last weekend, in the SEC, we saw No. 7 Ole Miss go down to Texas, along with South Carolina upsetting Tennessee.

There are just five games this weekend in the SEC and one of them has a top-25 showdown. After a bye week, both Florida and Georgia will take the field against one another. The Gators hope to build off their win two weeks ago against Texas, while the Bulldogs want to get that nasty taste out of their mouth after the loss to Auburn.

Here’s how every SEC game might play out this weekend.

No. 17 Florida vs. No. 3 Georgia

Who will play quarterback this weekend for Florida? That’s the first concern for the Gators as Florida looks to capitalize on its 27-24 win over Texas two weeks ago. The Gators spent last week trying to get healthy, but both Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr. are listed as questionable for the game this weekend.

We assume one of them will play this weekend against Georgia, but the Bulldogs aren’t a good team to face with questions surrounding the quarterback. Despite suffering an upset loss to Auburn two weeks ago, Georgia remains one of the toughest defenses in college football.

Georgia’s offense is also tough. We believe Week 7 was a mirage, but Week 9 will be telling. Gunner Stockton should play better and the ‘Dogs can get more from their running backs than they got against Auburn. Look for Georgia to bounce back.

Final score: Georgia 31, Florida 17

The rest of the games will be quick-hitter style:

• No. 12 Ole Miss 34, Auburn 20
• South Carolina 24, Oklahoma 21
• No. 11 Texas 38, Mississippi State 17
• No. 23 Missouri 30, Arkansas 14
