This past Saturday featured only a handful of SEC games in the Week 9 slate, as a large number of teams across the conference were not in action due to a bye week.
On Saturday, there were only five games played across the conference, coming as the result of six SEC teams not in action due to a bye week. The headliner of those five matchups were a pair of rivals, Florida and Georgia, meeting in a top 25 showdown, a game which was played at a neutral site from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Georgia eventually came away with the win in that matchup, which not only kept the Bulldogs in the drivers seat for one of the two spots in the SEC Championship Game, but also moves them into a tie with Kentucky at 5-1 atop the conference.
Others such as Ole Miss, Missouri, and Texas also kept themselves in SEC title game contention following Week 9 wins, setting the stage for a huge Week 10 in the conference. Many of the SEC's top teams face each other this upcoming Saturday, meaning that Week 10 will likely be key to see if any teams can create separation at the top of the conference, and in doing so, move closer toward securing a trip to Atlanta.
Here are the updated SEC standings entering a massive Week 10 for the conference.
