The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 SEC) take on the No. 17 Florida Gators (5-2, 3-2) in a top-20 SEC showdown on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Both teams are coming off a bye, but the week before that treated these sides very differently.

Led by backup quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., Florida toppled a top-10 Texas team on the road, 27-24. Georgia, meanwhile, lost to unranked Auburn, 27-24, on a game-winning field goal at home.

Despite the recent trends, Georgia still enters as a -11.5 favorite in Atlanta with the over/under set at 56.5. So, who holds the advantage in this conference clash?

We polled nine of our college football experts to get their takes on the spread and total, so let’s dive into our Georgia vs. Florida picks and college football predictions for Saturday, October 31.

Our Staff’s Pick: Florida +11.5

By RoadToCFB

Our Action Network staff is pretty aligned when it comes to the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (sponsored by Invesco QQQ and about a billion other things watering down the name).

Five of our nine voters this week side with underdog Florida at +11.5, while two lean Georgia and two more believe this is a fair number.

Back-to-back blowout losses at the hands of Missouri and South Carolina certainly cast doubt on this Florida team.

For the only time this season, offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner’s unit looked vulnerable. Florida was unable to get the run game going, and quarterback Aaron Philo got banged up during the game.

The bye week should do Philo some good; otherwise, it’ll be Tramell Jones Jr. again.

Faulkner has found some success going against this Georgia defense.

At Georgia Tech, Faulkner faced Kirby Smart three times, scoring 41 points on the Dawgs back in 2024. He also managed to move the ball despite being handily out-manned — now, he’s got the horses.

The question remains whether Florida’s defense can hold its water.

That unit hasn’t been particularly impressive this year, ranking 118th in Points Per Drive allowed and 125th in Success Rate allowed.

Even in 52-28 and 27-24 wins over Ole Miss and Texas, respectively, opposing offenses found ways to move the football.

Georgia’s offense is back in the driver’s seat. It ranks third in yards per play, fifth in Points Per Drive and 15th in Adjusted EPA Per Play.

Only Miami and Notre Dame score touchdowns more frequently on drives than Georgia, and UGA has, by far, played the more difficult schedule.

But in a projected higher-scoring affair between two rivals with a coordinator who has some familiarity and success against Georgia, our staff feels confident in Florida +11.5.

Georgia vs. Florida Over/Under Pick

Under 56.5

Our Staff’s Pick: Over 56.5

By RoadToCFB

Most of what I outlined above was the effectiveness of both offenses and the potential for each coordinator to put on a masterclass in this one.

Florida’s defense is by far the weakest phase of this game, while Faulkner has the resume of success against UGA.

The majority of our staff sides with over 56 points (five votes), while three go under and one says it’s a fair line.

So far this year, just one Florida game has gone under that line (its 27-24 win over Texas) against FBS foes. Georgia’s last two games (Alabama, Auburn) went under the total, but UGA has been a good over team to back so far this year.

Climate won’t be an issue, as this game will be played indoors in Atlanta. There’s a brief hiatus from Jacksonville as EverBank Stadium undergoes renovations.

But rather than play on campus, these two teams opted for “neutral” Atlanta and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

If this total goes under, it’s because Florida’s offense was once again stymied by a strong opposing defensive line. Georgia has the personnel advantage in the second level, and the book is out on how to apply the brakes to the Faulkner system.

Georgia ranks 14th in Rushing Success Rate allowed and has kept the lid on explosive plays on the ground.

The issue has been giving up too many big plays through the air, and that goes for both sides.

A game that goes over sees the offenses connect on some of these downfield shots that both defenses are occasionally prone to giving up.

Ultimately, our staff likes the schematic matchup between Faulkner and Smart, and the porous Florida defense, with both teams well-rested coming off a bye. That results in a lean to the over.
