The Ole Miss football program is currently searching for answers after their tough loss to the Texas Longhorns on the road over the weekend. While the Rebels did show some fight in this one in working their way back from a big early deficit, Ole Miss was unable to make enough plays to win down the stretch.
Up next for Ole Miss is a home game against Auburn on Halloween, and now, the team has gotten a tough injury update on one of their key offensive players ahead of that matchup.
“Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy dislocated his left shoulder against Texas and won’t play against Auburn, per Pete Golding,” reported college football insider Pete Nakos of On3 Sports on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, Lacy went down with a shoulder injury during the second half of Saturday’s loss against the Longhorns and didn’t return, and now will miss the Tigers game next week as a result.
While Auburn might theoretically not be the worst opponent in the world for Ole Miss to be less than one hundred percent against, the Tigers did arguably pull off the upset of the college football season two weeks ago on the road against the Georgia Bulldogs, and will be hungry after falling back to Earth against LSU this past weekend.
Meanwhile, Ole Miss has had no problem stacking wins at home this year, but getting victories on the road has been a different story, as the Rebels have now fallen to both Texas and Florida away from Oxford. Not having Lacy in the Auburn game will put even more pressure on quarterback Trinidad Chambliss to make plays both through the air and with his legs in this one.
Kickoff is set for 12:45 pm ET.
