Damani Warren Texas A&M

Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View wide-out Damani Warren committed to Texas A&M back in June but will be taking an official visit this weekend to one of the hottest programs out West.

Warren originally committed to the Aggies, Michigan and had schools all over the country on him early, including Auburn, Oregon, UCLA and USC. He’s a big, fluid 6-4 athlete with strong hands and body control. He’s a very smooth route runner and shows some elusiveness after the catch.

He runs well and can make plays in the vertical passing game. The only thing that has really slowed him down the last few years is injuries. When healthy, he’s a dynamic playmaker with rare traits in terms of his size, athleticism and body control.

This weekend, Warren will take an official visit to Oregon State and has strong ties to the Beavers program. Current Beaver commit Thaddeus Thatcher is his adopted brother and the two have always wanted to play together. They nearly did with Michigan being the destination but Thatcher chose Oregon State and Warren chose A&M.

“I’m excited for the visit Warren said. “We know the staff really well, and our whole family is coming out. We’re looking forward to watching the game and hanging out with everyone afterwards.

“This will be my first time visiting. I didn’t go out when Thad visited over the summer. I like Coach Finley, the WR coach and Coach Shep (Jamarcus Shephard) is still involved with the receivers, and that’s his background. He was recruiting me when he was coaching at Bama so it should be a fun weekend.”

Warren’s commitment to A&M remains solid, and he’ll be back on campus later this month when the Aggies host Texas. Arbor View recently won the inaugural Division I Superintendent’s Cup to close out their season

“That’s one of the cool things about our season being over already, it allows us to take some visits in November,” Warren said. “It was nice for our class to finish out on top, and it was a fun run for sure.”
