Texas A&M's Week 9 bye hopefully served as a chance to rest and recover before heading back onto the field for the final four weeks of the 2026 regular season, which has been a disaster through the first four weeks.

After falling to Alabama 31-20 on the road in Week 8, the Aggies head to Columbia to face No. 21 South Carolina after defeating the Gamecocks 31-30 in Kyle Field, which remains one of the greatest comebacks in college football history.

Sitting at 4-4 and 1-4 in SEC play, Texas A&M is one of the worst teams in the SEC, while South Carolina has reeled off three consecutive wins over Florida, Tennessee, and Oklahoma in Norman, blowing out the Sooners 45-25 behind veteran quarterback LaNorris Sellers' four combined touchdowns.

Texas A&M's passing game, which has been dreadful all season behind senior quarterback Marcel Reed's inconsistency, looked vastly improved in the first half against Alabama before tapering off in the fourth quarter, while the defense gave the Aggies plenty of chances to win.

Facing South Carolina's stout but competitive defense, especially star pass rusher Dylan Stewart, if Marcel Reed, which is a big if, can find some sustained success, combined with a healthy dose of the run game, the Aggies will have a shot at pulling off the upset.

Uniform-wise, Texas A&M will reportedly wear white helmets, white jerseys, and maroon pants against South Carolina, a uniform worn during last season's road contest vs. Missouri. Texas A&M vs. South Carolina will kick off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and will air on ESPN.
