Another year, another dominant performance from Iowa against Wisconsin.

In the 100th meeting between these two longtime rivals, the Hawkeyes scored another shutout victory, this time by the final score of 30-0 at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday.

There were a lot of standout performances in this one, but we've somehow managed to narrow the list down to three. Here they are.

WR Tony Diaz

Iowa hasn't had many playmakers at wide receiver in recent years, but everyone knew Tony Diaz could be that guy in 2026 if the Hawkeyes could get him the ball. Diaz made some big plays early in the regular season but hasn't been involved as much as conference play has worn on, culminating in a disappointing outing in Minneapolis last weekend.

Kirk Ferentz was adamant that needed to change against the Badgers, and it's safe to say the Hawkeyes made good on that. While Diaz did see a similar volume of targets on Saturday (5), that was because Iowa didn't throw the ball much in the second half. It was clear that the Hawkeyes wanted to get Diaz the ball in the first half, though, as he finished with four catches for 75 yards and one touchdown in the half. That was ultimately Diaz's final game stat line, but getting him involved helped put this game away by halftime.

No play was a greater example than the 45-yard catch and run in the second quarter. Iowa was backed up inside its own 10-yard-line after the goal line stand, but it wasn't backed up anymore after quarterback Hank Brown found a wide-open Diaz over the middle. Those plays to Diaz were open against Minnesota last week, but the Hawkeyes couldn't convert them.

That was obviously not the case on Saturday, and Diaz, who said he was good to go after some thought he left the game with an injury, was pleased with the performance.

"We definitely took that [what happened last week] and used it," Diaz said. "So I mean, it's it's great when we get everything clicking on all cylinders."

LB Jayden Montgomery

Ferentz said it best when describing linebacker Jayden Montgomery after the game.

"I don't know if Jayden's going to play in the NFL, but he's a hell of a college football player and I'm glad he's on our team."

It's games like Saturday that certainly make the Hawkeyes happy they have Montgomery on their team. The fifth-year finished with six tackles (second-most behind Cam Buffington) and 0.5 sacks. With Iowa now winning five straight over Wisconsin, that means Montgomery, who is from Green Bay, finishes his Hawkeye career a perfect 5-0 against the Badgers.

Iowa's entire defense played well, but Montgomery lands on this list because of his fourth down stuff in the second quarter. Wisconsin opted to run a jet sweep on a 4th-and-goal from the one and Montgomery snuffed it out. The Badgers would never come close to the end zone after that, and you can probably argue the play essentially ended the game.

"The coaches had that had that for us and mentioned that during the week, just to be alert for for something funny coming out of there," Montgomery said. "So just saw them jet across and shot it, was able to make the play."

QB Hank Brown

Brown took a lot of criticism from fans and media members after a bad performance at Minnesota last week, but he bounced back in a major way on Saturday. Iowa desperately needed poise at the quarterback position in the worst way, and Brown's final stat line (20/24 for 222 yards and two touchdowns) was certainly that. Third down efficiency was a highlight, as he went 5-for-7 on the money down in the first half - including a

We'll see how Brown finishes the year, but a performance like that says a lot about the kind of football player he is - resilient. If Brown can run this offense like that on a consistent basis, Iowa will be in good shape moving forward.

"I have a lot of faith in the guys around me, but also just we're later in the season now, and I think we're growing as an offense and as a team each and every week of practice, each and every week on that field," Brown said.
