The Auburn Tigers are looking to rebound after playing poorly in a 38-17 home loss to LSU. Who does ESPN have winning when Auburn travels to Ole Miss on Saturday?

According to the ESPN Matchup Predictor, Auburn has a 25.1% chance of picking up a victory at Ole Miss.

The Tigers have not lost back-to-back games this season and will be looking to avoid that in Oxford, Mississippi, on Saturday. It will be a tall task for Auburn to come away with a win over the Rebels, who are coming off a narrow defeat last week at the hands of the Texas Longhorns. Ole Miss almost made a huge comeback after trailing Texas 24-3 at halftime. Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss could not find the end zone as time expired, and Ole Miss lost 34-27. At 5-2, Ole Miss can not afford another loss if they want to make the College Football Playoff.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 2023 season, when Ole Miss defeated Auburn in the first year of the Hugh Freeze era. These two programs met each year when they were both part of the SEC West division. Auburn leads the all-time series 35-12, but Ole Miss has won the last two meetings.

In the final five games of the season, Auburn should be able to snap their streak of five consecutive losing seasons. With four wins, Auburn should be able to get three more victories with games against Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Samford. A matchup that could help Auburn pull off an upset victory over Ole Miss is in the run game. The Rebels are at the bottom of the SEC, giving up 161.1 yards per game on the ground. Saturday could be an opportunity for Byrum Brown and the Auburn running backs to have a big game.
